Zebra danios lay non-adhesive eggs, high in the water column. The male then fertilizes them as they sink to the bottom. The male and female then eat the eggs.So the thing to do is make up a spawning tank with multiple layers of marbles on the bottom instead of gravel. The fertilized eggs will sink below the marbles and the parent fish won't be able to eat all of them. The fry's hatching time depends on water temps,I don't know what the ideal temp is. The fry look like tiny slivers of glass, with tiny spots where their eyes are. Spawning usually takes place in the early morning hours shortly after sunrise. The parent fish should be removed after spawning, and an air stone added to create a gentle circulation in the tank. This is to aid in the prevention of fungus growing on the eggs. The females abdomen will be much less fat when they have spawned. There's more, but a good book on spawning egg layers will help. Hope this is helpful. PeeTee

The eggs are super hard to find if you have gravel. They are very tiny, so look hard for them in the gravel. If you have any other fish in the tank, you will want to seperate the eggs, because they will be eaten by anything that finds them. They are very tiny and hard to see even when they are fry, so good luck :p

If we all gave her a dollar, we could save a fish!
