I've noticed on several occasions that people on Answers will refer to someone's Avatar as if it was a pic of the real person. Women (or girls, most likely) seem to do this the most. They will say tings like: "I think you're pretty" when asked by a member with an Avatar what she should do to make herself more attractive. And before I had my photo posted and had an Avatar, I actually got an emial or two from girlssaying I was cute, and they wanted to hook-up. Can this be possible. Are these teenie girls really this dumb? Ten points to whover can enlighten me on this bewildering phenomena.

i think alot of these teen girls are desperate. i personally wouldn't say someones avatar is cute and base my judgement of them on their avatar. i know that my avatar doesn't look like me. it's just as close as possible with the options they give you and i can't imagine other peoples avatars look like them either. alot of teen girls just want boyfriends or hook-ups and yeah alot of them are acting really dumb asking to hook up with someone they don't even know. nice way to get urself raped and killed.

Well, a lot of people think that all of the yahoo users are choosing their avatars to look extremely like them so they go on the avatar instead of asking for a pic or something

I think it is pretty dumb because you could lie about what you look like with avaters on here, but you also could with real pictures, like if you just copy and paste one from the internet. You can never really trust what someone looks from their pictures because it might not be really them so I say don't even try to hook up with someone that you've only seen on the computer

funny, the opposite happens to me. People always ask if this is my avatar or my real pic. I had one girl IM me asking how I got my avatar to look so realistic and and another person ask how they can zoom their avatar in to be close up like mine is . Some people puzzle me.......

It's not just teen girls - I have had e-mails from middle-aged men suggesting we hook up based on my cartoon avatar. It's so scary that it's funny.
Maybe the idiot teenage girls should hook up with the horny middle-aged men and do everyone a favour?

Your avatar in general is sapppose to resemble you, so when people see your avatar they think thats what you look like!

avatars hide a multitude of hideousness. they give ugly people hope...
unfortunately the dumb fall for them, so the marriage of dumb and ugly is never a blessed union. its a poison of youth, to be gullible enough to think that avatars actually reflect a person. hell, online I wouldnt even trust a photo. people lie, ugly people desperate for dates lie even more...

Beats me! I tried to get my avatar to look as much like me as possible but I'm not silly enough to think it's an accurate representation of me, or anyone else's is of themselves.
