Are you talking about an Endless Pool (www.endlesspools.com)? Basically, they are 8' x 15' 'pools' that have a 'current' so that you can simulate lap-swimming even if you only have a small space for equipment. I've heard great things, but I think they are ~$20K.

This may be a reference to what pool builders/designers use as a model. In otherwords a computer aided design of a pool that can be built. check out the swimmingpool.com
