Trust me diets are not the best thing, but eating Heathy is. You could try eating a healthy breakfast. Eating a good breakfast keeps you from wanting to eat later in the day. Having a snack during the day is good to, but it should he healthy. Also for lunch and dinner. For exercise plans, try going to a local gum on the weekends. Having support from family and friends can also help you lose weight. What I do is, work out in my room for 20 min. a day, in time it paid off. Swimming is also a good workout plan, burns tons of calories. You should try signing up for a sport like soccer, tennis, basketball. They are a great way to get fit. Have Fun using these tips. Remember I was once like you. Try them! :)

Hi. My advice to you would be to make sure that you have a good well balanced diet. At age 13 it is very important that you get all the nutrients that a growing body needs, I am a nutritionist and am very concerned about the amount of junk food that kids tend to eat every day. Avoid all sodas, fries anf fast food in general. Try to increase your intake of fruit and veg and if you like it -fish. When your daily diet is poor it can affect your emotional state and this in turn can contribute to lack of motivation. Do try to exercise as this can speed up metabolism. You sound like a really nice girl and I would love to help out more but its not possible in this forum. However there are plenty of books you could check out and also websites. Just remember two things--!, its much more important to have a good personality and 2- females are meant to be rounded, not "twigs" Good luck

Everytime you want to give up, just think of getting into a bathing suit and feeling comfortable. The best way for overweight people to lose weight is to take off 1000-1500 calories a day. Do activities that you are not used to doing alot of-even if it is just walking. Walk the track for a few hours or so every week. Or go swimming-this way-you are exercising and using muscles but do not feel it as much until after you get out of the water. Wear a shirt when you go.Eat fiber-apples, green vegetables. Drink alot of water-stay away from pop. You should start seeing a change. You can do it. My father loses about 100 pds. every summer from changing his diet, walking(something he doesn't do alot of) and drinking alot of water.

You're too young for diets. Stick with exercise.
The exercises that burn fat the quickest are those that use the biggest muscles - the ones in your legs. Running, walking, biking.
I've gone down a pants size in the past two weeks just by choosing to eat somewhat smaller portions and taking walks.
Get yourself a music player with some music with a good beat, and walk to the music. Or find an athletic activity you really enjoy and get involved. I swam competitively from age 11 to 17, and during that time I was in the best shape of my life.

For a lot of ppl now its hard to stay thin because the food that is suppose to be good these days even contain fats. Even eating a salad these days you take in so many calories. If you really want to lose weight and feel better about yoursel the first thing you need to accomplish is...find some confidence in yourself. You say you have a great personality well..thats great that you see that about yourself but you need to stand in front of a mirrror (as hard as it may be) and find something you love about yourself every day. Tell yourself that regardless of what happens you are a great person and learn to love yourself for who you are.
Some ppl do have a hard time losing weight and sometimes that isnt their fault, and sometimes diets wont even help. If you really really want to lose weight that should be enough motivation to keep up with dieting and exercise. Think of it not only as losing weight and feeling better about yourself but as keeping yourself healthy. Stay strong and keep confidence in yourself and you can succeed. Just have to believe in yourself.

I won't lie to you..looks are everything. I have several pounds to lose as well. In four months I've lost 4 pounds and an inch off the waist. Just make simple changes in your diet: no hamburgers or fattie foods, try to eat more veggies and drink LOTS more fluids..and try to add some excercise. the weight loss will be slow but then you will be able to keep the weight off longer and easier at the end.

Cut out burgers, soda, fries, Eat foods that are good for you, instead of drinking sodas drink juice or water, drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day, try not to drink more than 2 glasses of juice a day, because they have calories to.eat vegetables, and fruits,i have been dieting the past few days i have had campbells soup, tomato and chicken noodle i have a salad around 10 am and soup at noon and all i drink is water and fresca, fresca has no calories.you have to not eat fried foods they contain saturated fat wich is bad for you.

Looks fade and you can meet the prettiest girl ever and she could be the rudest most inconsiderate person on earth and make you miserable but being able to have someone who really cares about you means a whole lot. I found that out the hard way.

At 13 you could still hit a growth spurt and slim out a bit...but basically you just have to make up your mind to eat right and exercise regularly...you have to want to be fit more than you want to eat that "no-no" or relax instead of work out.
People with slow metabolisms can still lose weight...I'm proof...you just have to work harder and be more diligent...get it under control at the age you are now, and you're less likely to have to fight it as much when you get older...
