I can't figure out how to eat in Sims 2?

It's for Playsation 2 and I can't figure out how to eat. I can open the fridge but it wont let me pick anything even the free stuff?

You might be out of food. Try calling to order groceries or buy a new fridge.

To get food, click on the fridge and choose one of the options, then you'll be able to choose a type of food depending on your skills in the kitchen and if you've downloaded bonus food.

open the fridge and get the food out.

if you didn't leave money for a fridge you'll have to start again.
