I was just thinking about how I've never considered January to be the beginning of a new year. To me, it's always been September. Do you know of any places where they are synchronized?

In Japan, the school year begins and ends in April. They still get a month and a half for summer break, but they are in the same grade after the break.

In Australia, school starts for the year on the monday after Jan 26th (Australia Day)

don't know of any.Our school goes year round. out three weeks every nine weeks.
