i re-built my computer and i got a new hard drive, then when i try to get into my old one, it says access is denied? why can i not get inot my old files?

I'm assuming your old OS was XP and your new OS is also XP
Your second hard drive will be NTFS filesystem & as such, supports encryption.
To view the files as you did before, set up an account on your newly built computer (or modify the existing) so that you have the same username as the second drive used when it was on your old one.
If that doesn't work, you may also need the same password.

If it is running a differnt OS, that may be the problem. If it is running windows, it may not allow access without the admin password. If it is encrypted, decrypt it.
