A) The Colts having, by far, the worst run defense in the NFL, finishing the season 2-4, yet still claiming the 3rd seed over the Patriots.

B) The Cowboys getting into the playoffs, and nearly taking the NFC East, despite going 2-4 in the division.

C) The Cards having the only winning division record in the NFC West, yet finishing last in the division.

D) The Bears easily taking the NFC's best record, despite a QB who finished with a QB rating of TEN or less in multiple games (including QB ratings of 0, 1, 10, 23, and 36 within the last 11 games)

E) FIVE "sure-thing" playoff teams failing to make the playoffs - Super-Bowl favorite CAR starting at 4-2, ATL at 5-2 with Vick throwing like Marino twice early (and twice more later on), DEN at 7-2 with seemingly a world-class defense, CIN and JAX both at 8-5 and a 2-game lead for the final playoff spot in week 14.

F) The Giants going 2-6 against current playoff teams, yet making the playoffs (tied with Green Bay who went 1-6)

You forgot the weirdest.

The Chiefs losing 3 out of thier last five games and still making the playoffs due to the fact the Chiefs won and the Titans, Broncos & Bengals all lost. (two of those 3 were in overtime) How un-probable is that that they needed 4 things to happen and all 4 did!
Biggest of all was the 49ers to lose to Denver at Denver and it happened!
