When I take a snapshot, I tend to drag the puck a little and then just release the shot. The puck gets about an inch in front of the blade and I snap the shot off. It take s a bit of practice though to get the timing down. Also it's a good idea to remember that the closer to the toe of blade you release the puck, generally the higher you're going to elevate the puck. This is of course depending on the curve of your stick, which I suggest you don't fall into the meat-hook trap of getting the biggest curve you can find. More then anything, you should try to improve your accuracy, even if you grab a goal and spend some free time trying to pick the top half of the net from about ten feet away, it'll help alot. Especially when you're in a game and you don't have time top pick a spot, the top of the net is usually open and I've scored a million goal up there w/o looking. Good luck.

snap shot is just a wrist shot/slap shot combo. Really just practice the more you play the better you will get.

PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE so that you get the feel, you'll know when you've got it. Have someone pass pucks to you and keep practicing.

The only thing you can do is practice
