nonconformist don't agree with anyone, doesn't go by the rules, does what they want too. Of course we don't have many of them in America.A person would prefer to be thought of as a nonconformist and as time goes on, they get tired of people thinking they are weird and so they want to go back and join in the gang, but they can't, because fighting all those people about things they believe in, has changed them and they are what people fear, they can think for themselves. Giving me green hair does not make me a nonconformist, I think for myself do what others only dream about, stand up for things no one else stands up for, the green hair is just a little spice of being a nonconformist.

A person is a non-conformist if he/she walks to the beat of a different drummer (paraphrase from Thoreau). However, in all honesty, those who don't conform a little to the rest of society is considered crazy. Everyone is a conformist. Tatooed and pierced people think they're not, but they're conforming to that group, so do punks, preps, geeks, jocks, etc.
