Meditation has been very good for me.
Before I began meditating I was a very angry; viscious sub human, and I was stressing about things going on in my life that seemed to be out of my control.
Today; I am 51 years old; I am a kind, caring compassionate human being, that almost never stressed out. I have a resting heart rate of 59 beats per minute, and a resting BP od 96 over 76.
I would just not be the person I am today without meditation.
There are lots of different forms of meditation. I prefer Zen; but you may like Actualism (www.actualism.org), Vipissana, TM or something else.
I do zen 6 days a week for about 20-25 minutes.

Meditation has changed my life by making me realize none of the things we reach for and run after real count, or matter.
It's not about doing, it's about Being. Peace. Harmony. Quietness of mind, cause' only a quiet mind can obtain anything. But it is not about obtaining, on the physical level.
But about the Freedom from having to obtain. Realizing that we are good enough, and we have already won our battles, or we would not have been chosen to be on this planet.
And yet doing is very important on the physical plane. But if we achieve nothing, that is not important. And that relief from the wrong kind of stress and pressure can make a big impact.
I use breath counting. Just draw a breath slowly, and count 1 on the out breath, until you get to 4, and then start over.
It's good in the morning, and at night. Or any time of the day you like, and while you are doing other things.
Yes, there are visible benefits. Improved sense of peace, like stated above. Better health habits mentally and physically. Improved efficientcy.
In the part of Buddhism I studied, it's believed it works better if you are called to it, but anyone can do it.
Good Luck! Gassho! That is a Buddhist greeting, with a bow.

Meditation has made me a happier person. I had always felt that meditation was pointless chatter, and now I tell myself 'I will be a better person'. I have been able to rid my life of much of the depressive baggage of pass relationships and ''growing pains''.
I just relax ( before my daily nap) and turn my thought patterns to good feelings of strong friendships and pleasant situations.

It have been very successful in my life.
I do kabbalah.
I do it every night before bed about an hour.
i first started by doing the counting method. If that do not work you can go about doing the self hypnotic method, which is just telling yourself to (relax).
I do not know what you need in life, but i needed stress relief and it does release stress in your life.
