I ALWAYS set lofty goals for the coming year. Today is one full year of not smoking (least years resolution)...this year i have several and fully intend to implement each of them...

Yes and no.
There are things I know i must do this year.
I want to go on a road trip by myself, I want to read as many books as possible, I want to sit on top of a billboard, I want to dance in the rain, I want to figure out what i want in terms of my marriage and whether or not I even want to be in it, I want to hitchhike across Europe or at least go there and spend some time, and I want to write...
I know that I can die at any time and I want to make sure I lived it up...
As far as my academics go, i've set low expectations. Every time I have ever set the bar high, i failed brutally. So this year, I plan on doing my best but taking the time to just breathe and enjoy my life.
School is important but i've learned that it's not worth losing my mind over :P
Kind of ironic how that works..

No. nicely, on condition that you already dislike Obama. His warring parties will be searching for, and infrequently arising, all kinds of cases of "failure." right here's the component: as a lot as I despise Bush and each little thing his neo-con regime stood for, I also note of that he change into merely one guy. He easily change into effective and had many likeminded human beings operating for him. yet 8 years is fairly ephemeral, extremely. the component is, Bush is emblematic of a a lot deeper challenge that are the real issues. it truly is the priority of capitalism, or quite great-capitalism, which has been spread all global through the U. S.'s protection stress-business complicated. great-capitalism, in turn, has offered out the yankee and many different governments to non-public company pastimes, and public governments were taking orders from economic establishments for decades. those are extreme and structural issues. Governments do not belong to their human beings. this is not compared to the "no taxation without representation" challenge extra up by the "founding fathers." great probabilities of the yankee public are being heavily taxed with no want a say in how and the position that money is spent. Bush isn't, change into not, the priority in step with se. Neo-conservatism exacerbated the real challenge. And neo-liberalism has been making it a topic for overseas international places a lot longer.

As my close personal dead friend, Horace once said, "Life is largely a matter of expectation." So whether we set high ones, low ones...or just simple middle of the road ones...expectations keep us going...whether we succeed or screw it all up.

i realize that 2007 will be an important transitional year for me, and this is something that i will have to think greatly about. but to be honest, i rarely set any 'resolutions', knowing me i will procrastinate and hope that the solutions come to me. why cant it be that simple?
