Well, to be honest, nothing should be missed. Walt Disney World is the most incredible place and there's so much to do, one could remain occupied for weeks.
1. If you can, visit all four Walt Disney World Theme Parks. They each have their own great selection of attractions, shops, and restaurants, and neither is really better than the other. All four of them are awesome! Try to stay from open to close so you don't miss out on any of the daily festivites, like the parades and stage shows in the afternoon and the fireworks display in the evening.
2. Spend an afternoon at one of the Water Parks. Walt Disney World is home to two of the world's most imaginative water parks - Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. My favorite is Typhoon Lagoon. It's home to one of the largest inland wave pools in the world! Blizzard Beach is home to the world's tallest, fastest free-fall body slide.
3. Spend a day at Downtown Disney. It's a huge shopping, dining, entertainment complex, and a whole day could easily be spent there. There's so many wonderful shops. Bongos Cuban Cafe is a great place for lunch and Fulton's Crab House is very nice dinner location. For entertainment, there's Pleasure Island with a selection of night clubs, there's the AMC 24-Theatre Complex where you can see a movie in the most comfortable setting, there's the DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park for video/virtual reality games, and even a Cirque du Soleil show called "La Nouba," which is excellent.
4. Spend one day relaxing and enjoying the recreation. Hang around the Resort, play in the pool. Explore and dine out at some of the other Resorts. There are numerous golf courses, mini golf complexes, marinas with boat rentals. You can go out on a guided fishing excursion or go horseback riding. Maybe go get a massage or spa treatment at one of the numerous spas. Any of this can be done right on Walt Disney World property!
5. Do something you've never done before! There's all sorts of things to do at Walt Disney World that you wouldn't imagine you could do there. At the Living Seas Pavilion at EPCOT you can take the Seas Aqua Tour and go swimming in the aquarium with the sharks, sting rays, sea turtles, and other big fish. It's so much fun - I did it in August! At Typhoon Lagoon you can take surf lessons in the wave pool before the park opens. Near the Magic Kingdom Park is the Richard Petty Driving Experience where you can take a class, learn how to drive a race car, and at the end you get to actually drive one yourself. At Sammy Duvall's at Disney's Contemporary Resort you can go parasailing and get a breathtaking view of the entire Walt Disney World Resort.
There's so many wonderful, incredible, fun things to do at Walt Disney World. Take advantage of all the time you have there and just do as much as you can. As others have said, don't skip our on anything just because it seems boring or childish - most of the rides and shows are very entertaining for all ages. I'm 20 and Walt Disney World is my favorite place to vacation, and it only gets better as I get older.
Hope I could help! Have a magical time!

1. Watch the nighttime shows: Magic Kingdom's Wishes fireworks show and Spectromagic parade, Epcot's IllumiNations and MGM's Fantasmic are all incredibly amazing shows that definitely should not be missed.
2. Expedition Everest: It's the newest roller coaster thrill ride at Disney World's Animal Kingdom park. The ride goes through periods of darkness and you encounter a giant life-like yeti.
3. Downtown Disney: This is Disney's big shopping center. You'll find numerous shops and restaurants, a 24-screen movie theater, several nightclubs and a Cirque du Soleil show.
4. Soarin': Get a Fastpass for this because the lines can get very long. You sit suspended above a large IMAX screen as you hang-glide over the California landscape. This attraction is at Epcot.
5. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror: These sit right next to each other at Disney-MGM Studios. The roller coaster propels you from 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds and the Tower of Terror provides a chilling atmosphere for an exciting elevator drop.

MUST DO:
Magic Kingdom
1. Space Mountain
2. Philharmagic
3. Wishes Fireworks
4. Haunted Mansion
5. It's a Small World
Animal Kingdom:
1. Expedition Everest
2. Safari
3. Kali River Rapids
4. Dinosaur
5. Finding Nemo Show
MGM Studios:
1. Rockin' RollerCoaster
2. Tower of Terror
3. Parade
4. Indiana Jones Stunt show
5. Fantasmic!
Epcot:
1. Soarin'
2. Mission Space
3. Living Seas Nemo Ride
4. Illuminations
5. Test Track
These are my favorites!!! Of course it also depends on what age group you are going with. If you are going with children you may want to include visiting the characters.
Some of the really good restaurants on property are:
Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge
Germany (Biergarten) in Epcot
Japan in Epcot (pretty good
Character Breakfast: (depending on what characters you want to see) 1900 Park Faire at Grand Floridian
Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom
Cape May at Beach Club
Downtown Disney is always fun to just walk around and do some shopping. If you are staying on property make sure you take advantage of shipping your purchases to your resort or package pickup so that you do not have to carry everything around with you throughout the day.
Another fun thing to do if you want a quiet night and especially if you have children is Chip n Dale's Campfire show. It is outside at Fort Wilderness, with a big movie screen, there is a campfire and you can buy snacks and stuff to make smore's and then you can relax and watch a Disney Movie. (Call Fort Wilderness for show schedule and more information). It is great!
There is so much to see and do at Walt Disney World. Even just walking around all the resorts to see what they have to offer and to see how beautiful they are. You can just jump on Disney busses to get you to where you want to go.
Have fun and remember that Disney is expensive but if you want to have a good time you cannot think about the expense. If you are going with children, especially little ones make sure you head back to the resort during the hot part of the day so that you can get a nap in or even if it is just to sit at the pool and relax. You will want to see the fireworks at night and you don't want to be listening to children crying.

OMG, what fun! I love DW!!! Okay, here's my list:
1) You HAVE to see MGM's closing show. It's so much fun!
2) You HAVE to ride Soarin' at Epcot. Well worth the wait.
3) You HAVE to ride the three mountains at Magic Kingdom: Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain!
4) You HAVE to have breakfast with Mickey. It cost us about $80 for 4, but it is a BLAST. You can schedule reservations thru Disney.
5) Parade of Lights and Fireworks at the end of the night at Magic Kingdom! Be sure to check the dates because they don't do the parade every day!

I'd go to Hollywood Studios, if you can. Best Rides at Magic Kingdom are Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain (other mountains too,) and Pirates of the Caribbean. Epcot: Go to to world showcase, soarin', test track, mission: space, and illuminations. Hollywood Studios: Rock and Roll Rollercoaster, Toy Story Mania, Fantasmic, and Tower of Terror. There are plenty of restaurants and its hard to recommend.

1) It's a Small World-do this when you need a rest, its a very soothing boat ride through rooms where all they do is sing (Magic Kingdom)
2)Pirates of the Caribbean (Magic Kingdom)
3)Rockin' Roller Coaster (MGM)
4)Journey into Imagination (Epcot)
5)Kilimanjaro Safari (Animal Kingdom)
and if you have the money, having lunch or dinner in Cinderella is a nice experience, but quite expensive. If you decide to do this, make reservations before you go

I have found that the number one thing to do at Disney World is to have fun. Soak in every detail of wherever you are at the moment. If you don't make it to that certain show... don't worry about it, enjoy whatever is around you.
If someone wants to check out something, let them...
Number 2, RELAX. Let go of whatever problems you have in the "real world" and enjoy yourself. (Obviously, if money is a problem, you need to stay in you budget- don't go crazy with purchases.)
Number 3, Be open to new experiences. Don't just walk past a ride or show because it looks..."dumb", "childish", "boring".....you never know until you check it out yourself. Everyone's tastes are different.
Have fun and allow yourself to "feel the magic".
