the car is a toyota and i heard that this problem has happened to other toyotas. the problem is that the car has a problem starting when i run errands...but if i use it and it is parked for a while it has no problem starting up. i heard that this is called intermittance starting or something like that. anyway, i was wondering if anyone knows the exact problem and how it can be fixed.

It is hard to say what the fault is with the info you gave. There could be a number of problems.
1* When you turn the key and there is a clicking sound, it could be that there is a fault with the starter motor or the battery connection are dirty or the battery is faulty.
2* If the engine turns over but wont start. There could be a fault in the ignition system or the fuel injection.
These are but a few faults. They can all be repaired at your local auto electrician.

That could be anything... check your battery terminals and make sure they are clean and not corroded. If your car starts sometimes, and dosent otheres, it could be a bad starter solonoid, sometimes it will kick in, and sometimes it wont.
