the ocean level would rise causing flooding in major coastal cities around the world.
also, the ocean's temperature would rise, contributing to stronger tropical storms and hurricanes. not to mention, killing species that won't tolerate the temp. increase.

The scientists are predicting that all of Florida, New York City and Washington, DC will be totally under water by the end of the century. However, that assumes we do nothing about the problem in the next 93 years which I think is highly unlikely. I predict we'll elect Al Gore for President in 2008 and he'll emphasize new energy solutions to the problem of global warming.

we would eventually die. IF global warming melted the polar caps then there would be more water available for the incresed warming to evaporate. This would increase the "green house" effect. The increased effect would evaporate even more moisture into the air and so on and so on. Our weather would get worse by the day. We would all die because we upset the delicate balance.

We'd have more than enough fresh drinking water ... trouble is, we'd be living in house-boats. Ohhh, scratch the house-boats. We'd probably starve to death ... no land = no meat or veggies.
BTW: By *if* Octacat means ... there is no "if". The way global warming is progressing, this occurance is inevitable. Last week, a chuck of ice broke off an ancient arctic ice shelf ... from Ellesmere Island , the size of 11,000 football fields – yet another visible sign of planetary warming. You're saying "what if" ... but it is ALREADY happening. :(

It's happening as I write this.I'd go into detail but you could just go out and rent An Inconvenient Truth to find out what that means for us.So hey all you guys that like to drive big SUV's and throw your garbage on the ground and put toxic chemicals into the ground and oceans keep up the good work cause your doing a great job of destroying this planet.I'm not a tree hugger but At least I do my part to help keep things green.

Some parts of the world would go underwater, like California, because they are already below sea level. The weather around the world would change dramatically as well.
