I believe you are never to young, good for you. And since no one else seems willing to help here goes.
Start by doing a search on EBAY using "coffee" then "espresso" and then possibly "cafe". You should find your equipment, furniture, artwork and all kinds of other fun things you might want for your shop.
If you need a logo and design for a website and business cards you can go to elance.com and get an idea what that will cost.
I got a great logo 3 years ago for $250.
There is a great magazine called "Fresh Cup" and I'm sure they have a website also that will have links to lots of coffee roasters and suppliers.
Good Luck Young Entrepreneur! And drop me a line if you have any other questions.

6th grade is a little young to start a business. But it's great that you want to, and even better that you have some idea what you would like!
By all means, talk with your parents first. Do research about coffee, and about business laws and the permits you would need for a restaurant or coffee house. Start saving money: Starting any business requires capital. And start looking through magazines so you can get ideas about the furniture and decorations you want. If you want some on-line sources, you might try DIY.COM or the site for Better Homes and Gardens.
Good luck!

let me congratulate you on your initiative.
if you are this focused, i am sure you can do this.
there are going to be labor law issues, but being the owner is going to help you dodge the issues.
the3 next problem you will have is called capacity. legally you doi not have the right to enter into a legal contract, so you will need an adult as a partner. you own more than she does. since her responsiblities will be much less than yours try to keep her % to 25, but go to 33 if you have to.
you are in business, you might as well learn no to negotiate.
in this case think about what you want to do, what you wnat her to do. then decide on a job description for both of you. leave both a little open ended, so you have some wiggle room if you need it.
phrases like ..."and other tasks as needed..." are ideal, especially for her.
are you going to your customers, or are they coming to you?
there are going to be specific health department issues here. the health department does not hate you, but they have a very difficult job to do, and it can make them unreasonable at times.
to start, act like you are doing a project for school. if they think you are going to be a principle (in this case the business owner) they will refuse to deal with you because you are a minor and won't beleive you can pull this off. i have faith in you, and believe any one your age who can write as well as you, with well thought out questions will do what you want to do.
where do you live geographically? this is important because of the availability of the bean brokers, and ther shipping costs.
are you going to roast your beans? dietrich, sivitz, or other kind of roaster? that is big bux, and the installatioon is expensive too. how are you going to get your roasted beans in a timely manner
when you buy, buy used initially, and consider using a different but coordinated piece so you can mix and match and do not have to buy sets/
get a business to business directory from your local phone company for wholesalers and used furniture brokers. there are tax advantages in leasing equiopment.
for your pots and brewers consider leasing for the first year.
on the west coast, san francisco is the best location of wholesalers. buy estate beans. they are more expensive, but more flavorful.
here is a simple starting point for you. i am elmotheboxguy@yahoo.com
i am leaving america thursday, and will be difficult to keep in touch with because i will be traveling.
keep in touch with me, i have a huge amount of info you want, and will share it with you because i like your iniative.

What are you doing drinking coffee in the sixth grade? too young. Well anyway, you would be better off starting with lemonade, hot chocolate or selling baked goods. Let me know if you need help. Good luck!
