My daughter put liquid soap used for hand-washing dishes, in the dishwasher. I started it, not realizing the wrong soap was in it. Now, my dishwasher is about over-flowing with suds!

How do I get rid of these suds, other than just letting it sit or running it over and over? Is there anything at home (like gas tablets or anti-foam carpet spray) I can use safely?

Use towels to absorb the water and soap. REmove all of the water and soap and clean out the soap dish with another towel.

Then after you dry up all the water, run the dishwasher empty with nothing in it, except for about 1/4 cup of white vinegar mixed with about 2 quarts of water, put into the bottom of the dishwasher to get rid of the soap.

Don't put anything else in the dishwasher as they are not made for human consumption, and never to wash dishes, and could make your family sick.

Never, never use anything but dishwaster soap.

GOD bless.

Use loads of vinegar. It will make the suds die down and at the same time will sanitize the dishwasher!!

does it really matter? The soap is in there and doing the job. I wouldn't sweat it.
