I don't think an official reason was released, but he had been in the hospital in January 2006 for pneumonia, and several times over the summer for heart problems. I'm guessing it was something heart related. That combined with his age, probably.

"Ford died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday (PST) at his home in Rancho Mirage, about 130 miles east of Los Angeles, his office said. No cause of death was given. Ford had battled pneumonia in January and underwent two heart treatments -- including an angioplasty -- in August at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn."

When people get to be that old you don't always get a clear cause of death... the man was 93 for Christ's sake... it could have been a variety of things that actually caused death, he was just frikkin' old!

But seriously...he was the 38th..president...or something like that...the man was OLD...and when you get old your body just...stops working...
