I believe it will be easier and better to start at that age. Many people do, and do way better than the younger ones.
By the way, 40 is young these days.

I would say YES only if a few things are checked first... 1) You can go to a prenatal specialist and they'll do DNA testing on you and hubby, they can predict if due to your age your baby will have down syndrome or some other disease 2) Get a physical and speak to a gynocologist. Being pregnant is hard on your organs and at your age you are at a greater risk for gestational diabetes, anemia, pre-eclampsia, and a few other illnesses. 3) You can always adopt a baby and have a family. You can adopt an infant or a child that is orphaned. Remember not to be selfish to the baby, because you'll be 70 when the child is going to college. You may miss big events in your child's life such as marriage, etc. So I say Yes, but please check on your health and the liklihood that you'll have a child with an illness. And adoption is always a great choice. Be a foster parent and see what life it like with a child around. You husband may change his mind. Good Luck!!

40 is actually an ideal age.
You are more mature, financially stable, mentally stable than a 20 year old.
You have to remember that older men date younger women all the time.
I don't plan on getting married until aorund 35-40.
BTW there is no age limit on starting a family.
I once knew a lady who was getting married for the first time at age 50.

If you want children, you should by all means have them. They can be challenging at times, but when they've grown, they are wonderful. Grandchildren are the best. You're not old at 40. I'm 55 and have 4 children, ages 22-28 , who had their trying moments, and 6 grandchildren. What would I do without them?

it wouldnt be really hard although there are downfalls to it. I mean, if your 40 by the time you have a baby and they are out of high school, then the age you would be when you have a grandchild but, it is all up to the person.. Everyone is different.. You can still do it at 40

There is nothing wrong with starting a family at 40, as long as you are commited to expending the energy that a family requires.
Sometimes the maturity level at that age is a great thing.

If you have the health and wealth, go for gold. Just remember to add 20 to the day that the baby is born, because that is how long you will need to finance their life and well being. You can be a great dad at 60!

I think 40 would be a good age because you'd be more mature and closer to (if not in) retirement age, meaning that you'd have more time for the kids and make sure they grow up as mature responsible human beings.

40 is not old dude. I see no problem starting a family at 40 years old. Most successful people wait until their 30's and 40's to start families.

Some men are better parents when they are older. When your young some people don't have the time for their children. They are too busy with careers and other things to raise their children.Alot of children are raised by other people and don't know who their parents are.Being an older parent you are usually ready to settle down.
