My computer screen is really small and discolored?

Question

When I log on, everything is silver and the screen only takes up the middle of the computer. There is no disk space, but I have deleted tons of it. Can someone give me suggestions? Why is it doing this?
P.S. It is an HP Laptop. Pretty old, about 2 years of age.

why don't you format your hard disk drive? if you dn't want to lose any important information stored on your computer, try to partition your hdd in 2 parts and in the 2nd part put the important information and then when you format, you format only the windows partition...
