here you have 2a, and 8..

first, multiply the 2 and 8.. to get 16,.. or 16a divide that by 4..

simply divide the 16 by 4 to get 4, and the varialbe stays put.
or 4a..

you really can't solve for a unless this equation equals something.
if this is all thats in the equation then it would just be 1/2a times 2 which would just be 4a.
