Buying a new tank is possible. They sell them at Home Depot. If your toilet is old, it's better to replace the whole toilet. They make cool ones now that flushes and save water.

Definitely you should buy a new one. Like someone else said, toilets are not expensive.

I do not recommend that you try and repair this as you never know when it will really break and cause some serious damage. My suggestion is to replace it rather than have to pay alot more money to repair water damage in your house.
