I like to be warm (even a bit hot) but I'm not really into muggy.

I prefer to be close enough to the ocean that I could drive there, though I never go. I suppose a lake might do.

I don't care for snow - even in the winter.

I like night life.

I don't tolerate ignorance well.

I like fast pace, tell it like it is.

I'm not very passive, but I could work on it if the place were worth it.

Where should I move this year? In the US or possibly out of the states...

Check out Austin, TX. Has lakes, though not close to an ocean.
If you want someplace smaller and near an ocean then Wilmington, NC might be good. Both have a night life, though Austin is much livelier. Wilmington has a nice historic downtown area and is only 15 minutes from the beach. Both have mild winters.

South Carolina.... it's beautiful there and just what you're looking for.

Southern CA is another option, but only if you can tolerate the congestion of such a popular place.

I'd go for the road less traveled personally.
