I especially did when I bought my house. How can you not? You see a mark and you wonder what took place. You look at the walls and you wonder how they settled on this paint. You watch as new flowers come up in spring and you smile thinking of how much delight they previous owners had in planting the bulbs. You find the measuring chart in the closet that marked how their kids got taller every year. You can't help but wonder if you are taking care of their house in a way they would be proud. It took me several months to finally realize that it was mine......... no longer theirs. It just had a feeling of "home" for them..... and I was a guest.

Cars have always been different. I've often viewed a car as saying...... "Oh thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you for rescuing me from those evil people that never took care of me!!"

What comes to mind for me is that you live in a multiple unit building - so there likely isn't a private and secure yard. If the pup is the typical 8 or so weeks old, the risk for parvovirus is quite high. A new pup should not be out in public grass until they have received all their shots. This family might be simply keeping the pup in for the time being until he has the immunity enough to go outside safely. That may not be the case, but I'm trying to be optimistic about the general public. As long as the kids are kept away from the pads, there's no "neglect" to speak of.

Yes.

Several of the used books I've bought have inscriptions written in the front, and it makes me wonder who would give away a gift like that.
Also, my used car smelled like smoke when I got it, and I was very resentful towards the previous owner until the smell cleared.

Not really, I did when I got my car the other day. Either the previous owner was a neat freak or this car was well taken care of.
