Dude, it was sad because the media was all up in his damn grill. I know the man was wrong for what he did, but I do not feel it was necessary for the media to cover or release his last day. It should have been, Saddam was executed this day at this time. Next subject. The man got his karma...
With Saddam being dead, it is just an eye for an eye. Ain't gonna change anything for the good, just bring more chaos.

I think it is a shame it happened so quickly. He should have been tried and held responsible for all the crimes he committed, not just one samll incident (in comparison to all he killed as a whole). Now those crimes go untried forever and I think it undermines the point of executing him. It's like how Ken Lay technically did not commit the Enron scandal because he didn't have a chance to properly appeal before he died. Everything is legally questionable because it was not seen through.

He went out a Martyr in his eyes and in many of his followers eyes. It will solve nothing and could escalate things in the future. Some people are looking for reasons to do harm. This gives them one.

He got what he deserved. While it's easy to say it's horrible, you've got to remember what he did to all of those innocent people. I wish that our death row moved that quickly.
