Hi all,

I have an X-reg Peugeot 106 Diesel.

At the moment, when I start the engine the heater fan is not coming on. After the engine has been running for sometime, it will come on intermittently.

I have followed the suggested in the 106 handbook to check the heater fan fuse, which seems ok, and also checked the radiator levels, which also seem ok.

Before I take it to a garage, does any one have any other checks I could perform to try to rectify the problem ?

Any help would be appreciated.

For the person who asked - the fan is the one that circulates hot and cold air inside the car.

Hi there,
Check your handbook for heater resistor or heater reostat, this controls the voltage through the heater for fan speeds, If the resistor is faulty it usually only works on full power which is straight 12v and from start up your car will using 12v's for other things and until the sytem stabilises, the heater won't work, also check the heater relay and motor itself, the above can and will affect these too.
Cheers

try checking the heater switch on the engine . it could be on the rad or the therm housing . thats what clicks the fan on when it get to the correct temp . the prob wae the 106s is theres only a light that tells you to stop .hope this helps

Peugeot 106 is such an old car.

Get the latest 306/7 etc.

No wonder it keeps breaking down!! LOL
