I just bought "The Sims" and I cant find the serial number,well actually I can but is it the bottom or top one

Which Sims? The first one or the second one? The first series of The Sims should have the serial number on the back of the CD on the bottom. The second has the serial number on the booklet inside of the CD ROM case. The serial should be on the very top.
