In Prison break Michael Schofield and Lincoln Burrows are brothers and have the same father. Does anyone know why they both have differant surnames?

Michael and Lincoln have the comparable mum and dad. Aldo Burrows is the daddy of Michael and Lincoln, yet he never met Michael. He had to head away the kin simply by business enterprise. simply by this Michael purely took his mom's surname. She died whilst him and Lincoln have been youthful.
