And now for the twister. The lives lost were those of Taliban fighters and life saved was one of a UN aide worker. What do you think of me now?

It depends on the situation. If I have to kill a killer to save the life of me or my friends or even complete strangers then no. But if you do it to save the life of evil people and the ones you take are innocent then yes.

To take lives in order to save one life does not make a person a hero because everyone on this earth has equal right to be alive. In fact the person has commit a murder.

If the ones I killed were trying to kill someone else(innocent) that that would make you kind of a hero, but if the people were innocent then that would make you a murderer. It's not easy to take any life but when you know that you are in danger, the instinct to survive clicks on and you have to defend yourself and others.

Saddam was executed...another term to justify killing...World divided one side shouting "Justice happen" and another side "no justice " Saddam kill 143, perhaps more...Americans and Iraqi kills so far 16000 only for last year including Saddam plus over 3000 Americans is gone...it is fukkking insane killing, madness of sick people and there is no heroes and murderers just corpses and corpses does not care anymore of their titles while alive and definitely after...There is heroes from both side, people justify their beliefs..... Being a Hero from one side will be a killer for another opposite side and vise versa...Both sides sincerely believe that they are right.. and butchering one another...well... it is not without conductors of that bloody pool... Those "anointed" ones love words heroes and murderers... for that judgment keeps blood running and splashing... Same with saving ones life and taking another ..will be those who justify it and it will be those who don't...Seeing bigger picture clarity comes..Who can justify insanity?

if you take lives to save lives that's what war is about. lets call it a necessary evil.

see your question is rather judgemental of people who need to make the right important decisions every day. those individuals were voted in, ideally, by a majority of the general public. one would think that they deserve a certain credence or at least the benefit of the doubt.

You're a murderer. You can't be sure that the live you are trying to save will continue to live, but you can be sure that the people you killed will remain dead. That's murder.

i have seen many sides to this answer but just to directly answer the question you are a murderer by the standard dictionary definition and by biblical definition ,but the way people try to answer this question is by passing judgment when this is a act that is forgivable by God
