That sounds nice, but where do you stop? Shouldn't the USA belong to the American Indians? Shouldn't all of the island of Ireland belong to the Republic of Ireland? Shouldn't Sakhalin Island belong to the Japanese? Shouldn't Fiji belong to native Fijians? Shouldn't Australia belong to the Aborigines? Shouldn't New Zealand belong to the Maori people?
Ok, if Tibet should be for Tibetans and not Chinese, then WHO is going to take it away from the Chinese. They sure as heck are not going to give it up without a fight.
I think you should give it up. Tibet will always belong to the Chinese, right or wrong.

Yes. Yes it does suggest that China determines what Tibet will be called based on how they see Tibet - because Tibet is their territory. Your example regarding Japan is totally irrelevant because China is an independent country. BTW - before you all start saying Tibet is an independent country, note the official rep of Tibet - ie: Dalai Lama has expressly said that he does not wish for Tibet to be independent, only religiously autnomous. Get your facts right. Sometimes I wonder about Chinese geographical names. America is "mei guo" - the beautiful country, but to me, America is anything BUT!

It was made up of many different ethnic groups, including Korea, Thailand, and Tibet.
So its kinda hard to say...

Shouldn't the US belong to the native americans? Yes, of course Tibet should be free and independent, but that's just not the way people in power behave. They conquer and they take because they are bigger and have more weapons.
