My daughter bought an albino claw frog at Wal-Mart. The associate told us that any retile food would do fine. However, this frog has eaten the reptile food in two days. Is there a specific food for these frogs? If so what?

We feed ours "Reptomin." The pieces float in the tank. It seems to like them just fine. We've had it for almost 2 years and it's getting huge. (5-6 inches long) I think it took ours a few days to figure out the feeding thing too.

http://aquaticfrogs.tripod.com/ has lots of info on aquatic frogs and they sell their own food. You can offer Reptomin pellets (usually for turtles), small crickets and other insects, pieces of earthworms, frozen blood worms (found in the fish section of most pet stores). You can feed every other day. If it's a female frog, she's going to grow a bit more, too.

I've been feeding mine tropical fish flakes for 3 years. I've never heard of feeding an aquatic frog reptile food.

reptomin makes a blood worm mixture that you feed from a tube. the frogs go nuts over it becuase they can eat globs of it instead of individuale worms like you get with the frozen variety. you can buy it at petsmart for 4.99 in the reptile aisle. Like someone else said, frog bite could work too. These frogs get very large and will eventually need something more substantial like guppies, minnows, and crickets.

if it ate the reptile food in two days you are probably overfeeding it. i have two african clawed frogs...one albino. i feed them reptomin and sinking fish pellets. they don't nearly eat that fast though. one container lasts me about 2 months

Go to your nearest fish store, and ask for frog bite.

Stephiegirl? No Idea what she means by that!

Yeah, um she's weird. Sorry!
