I have been having trouble for a few years, after or during sexual intercourse I usually bleed and the next day it goes away. I've gone to a few gyn and they say I'm ok until last month I went to a gyn and he told me I have a small injury on my cervix( he said it could be due to my last childbirth, my daughter had her umbilical cord around her neck and doctors had to help her)

I am no doctor...But I have a few girlfriends who have had incompetent cervix's and all of them could not hold the baby in. They all had to get cerclage's put in. If you have had a child in the past I think your cervix is fine.

Good luck. Maybe get a second opinion. Maybe you can ask about getting a DNC?

An incompetent cervix means that it dilates before it should during pregnancy and can lead to an early delivery or in unfortunate cases, miscarriage. If it's really a threat to the pregnancy, the doctor will usually use a couple of stitches to sew the cervix into staying closed until delivery.

What you're talking about shouldn't be considered an incompetent cervix.

This does not mean that you have an incompetent cervix. The injury on your cervix, if there is scar tissue there, might mean that it will be harder for you to dilate in labor, and the doctor may have to reach in and break the scar tissue so your cervix can finish dilating. The bleeding during or after sex does not have anything to do with your cervix. The penis does not go through the cervix, it might hit against it, causing some pain, but bleeding usually means you have a tear in your vaginal wall.
