I am twelve. Before my winter break i took a life deciding math test. I answered all the quetions the best that i could and i didn't really have any trouble. My parents (and I ) know that if i get anything less than a 96% i will get an average score of a B+ and will be dropped to Algebra 1 from geometry. I am in the seventh grade and i am above the average seventh grade mathe leverl which is algebra. i get As and Bs. So is there anything i should be worrying about?????

Hon, you are 12. Relax. When I was your age (I'm 20 btw), I thought grades were everything. If I wasn't the best, I was nothing. Over time, I've learned that no one really cares about the actual grade on paper, but rather how much you learned getting it. So what if you are in a lower level math? Will the world come to an end? No. What you can do is do your best (which sounds like you are already). Even if you don't ace that test, your new teacher will see how smart you are, and may decide to give you the extra challenge. Furthermore, tests really aren't measures of intelligence, but rather means of evaluating your ability to recall information from memory about a topic. It doesn't mean you are incapable of achieving perfection, but that for now, algebra may be the best thing for you.

Best of luck, and remember- the only one you ever need to impress is yourself.

Never let anyone tell you, at twelve, that a certain exam is life-deciding. In fact, never allow yourself to see anything as life-deciding. Remember that it's never the end of the world if you don't get the grade that you want; you can always re-sit exams or come back to them later on when you feel more able/confident.

However, it sounds as if you've done the best you can and your parents should know this. Just relax and wait now. Even if the worse happens, all you do is take a deep breath and ask the teacher for more support/tuition so you can get back into the class you want to be.

The math thing will work itself out. Since you are in advanced classes, and get such good grades, you should probably not worry so much about the test. Just enjoy what is left of your break and deal with the test when you go back to school.

No of corse not, if you get A's and B's that is sooo good. I dont even get them. But even if you do get a 90 its ok even if u do get out of the high algebra thing. You are still just a kid dont worry u hav your whole life to worry but not now. you did the best u could do and u should be ok with that.

Wow. The math is really advanced at your school!

If you feel like you did well, you probably did. :)

Even if you didn't, there's no point in worrying about it, because there's nothing you can do at this point.

No you shouldnt be worried about anything if you did your best and you make good grades regularly. You'll probably do really good.
Good Luck!!

Your fine, sounds like your doing great, and this "life deciding test" most likely your teachers hyped it up to make you try harder..
