how do i recieve better public connections ? ;) thanks!

You just have to be closer for a stronger signal.

Sometimes switching the channel of your wireless connection works. Most wireless connections run on channels 6 or 11, but swithing the channel might find a stronger network with a stronger signal. You can find your network connection by going into the control panel and clicking into network connections (Windows XP). By right clicking your wireless connection and going into "properties" you might be able to switch your wireless connection's channel.

If you have an external antenna, you can always go with the 'ol foil trick.

Otherwise try to get as close to the source of the connection as possible.

Yes that is true, you can get closer to get a better signal, but also i beleave you could buy a better internet contector chip and have a longer radius of signal.

it all depends on your wireless card. ifs internal then all you can do is get closer if its an actual card then you can try adding an antena.
