Sounds like you already picked your life back up. But remember you can't go back only forward. College buddies are not in college anymore and old friends might be different. Maybe you should think about starting a new life without the old what-ifs.

It sounds like you are picking up the pieces. You will want to find some hobbies and other things that interest you. Your college buddies may be in a different stage of life then you are so you may want to look elsewhere for friends like a mutual interest group, or neighbors or church or the friends of your love interest or coworkers. You might also check resources that specialize in finding others like you who have been through a severe illness. Also don't forget the web. There are thousands of chat rooms and you may find one that suits you.
