where is the best place to take a vacation in february in order to get a tan...living in england so not majorly far away???

Try Sharm El Sheik in Egypt. Its warmer than Canaries and priced similarly.
Or Dubai... fabulous in February. Sharm is around 6.5-7 hours away from UK and Dubai 7.5-8 hrs approx.
The Canaries over the last few years (roughly 4 hours from UK) have been quite changeable in February and much cooler than they used to be (the locals are blaming Global Warming)
I'm afraid that closer to home and holidaying in the likes of Spain, and the rest of Europe may be much cooler than you think its going to be. Someone mentioned Tunisia in February- it's actually cooler there than Gran Canaria or Tenerife and very windy in February which makes if feel colder too, but if you find a sheltered spot away from the wind, it can be nice during the day and a tan is possible and the prices there are cheaper than Canaries.

The Canaries islands is hot most of the year, in there winter months there temperature there is about 70_75 degrees, most of my friends go there for winter breaks.
