I I'm not a racist but i sometimes when i look at tv or read a magazine i see all kinds of things that white people like to do and i think dang why can't our people, african american, do things like that like get n2 different cultures, not be afraid to try nu foods, etc. Take my family for instance they never really traveled and saw the what the world has to offer heck my mom and sister never learned to drive and i think my sister is a lil jealous cause i'm going to get my license. The bottom line why can't some of my people want better for themselves than just where they are n life u know? Again i'm not racist i like people from all cultures and ethinics i even want to take up Spanish just for the heck of it! Thanks!

I think its a combination of a few things, the fear of the unknown and possibly comfort. Many people only feel comfortable doing what they've always done. Little do they know that you'll always get what you've always gotten, if you always do what you've always done. Sometimes doing new things are intimidating and scary. No one wants to fail. I think that you could be an example for your family by trying new things and inviting them, but don't just invite them to try new things, show them how. Anyone can learn anything if properly taught.

There are Black people out their that do all sorts of activities that are non stereotypically. I love to swim and everyone always says Black people can't or won't swim. I have taken Spanish in college, I have taken a lot of courses that help me learn other things. Don't stereotype us because everyone is an individual first.
