Contact the IN Dept of Ed website. They have links to teacher certification.

You also need to contact the educational certification office of a nearby university (I used Ball State) They often have the power to count classes toward your certification that the DOE may not count.

I saved 12 hours of classes by contacting both of these and comparing their requirements.

You may be able to get an emergency license and then take 6 credit hours each year to progress to your permanent certification.

go back to school and get your teaching certificate. that's the only way these days with the advent of no child left behind. you will never get a teaching position with out a degree in secondary education with in your case a minor in geography. NCLB is federal law that requires all teachers to be "highly qualified" which means you have to teach in the area in which you got your teaching degree in.

You will need a teaching credential and courses in the subject area you are looking to teach in. You may find it easier to get in to the social studies area given your background in psych.

Lew's answer is sooo far from true! A degree in secondary teaching? what are you talking about! Plus you dont have to have a degree in the subject in which you want to teach. Look at your state's requirements for the teaching credential in the subject you want. Please, google it!
