To check for leaks look at the rear of the brake master cylinder and see if the paint is wrinkled on the brake booster if it is then the brake master is leaking and will cause the brake pedal to slowly sink to the floor when pressure is held on it , if that is not the leak then look at the rear of each wheel and look for wetness, if there is wetness then the wheel cylinder may be leaking, Brake inspection are usually free by most brake shops, if your not sure take it to a pro for some help but be safe, brakes that are leaking can cause an accident. GOD Bless.

look up under dash by your brake pedal and see if it is wet with fluid, if it is it means a bad master cylinder. Look at each wheel and see if you see brake fluid on the inside of the wheel on the front wheels and in the rear if you have drum brakes pull the tires and wheels off and then pull the brake drums off and see if it is wet inside the brakes, if it is it's the wheel cylinders leaking and if you still don't see anything you will have to climb under the car and look at all the brake lines and make sure they are not wet and also check the brake hoses that go to the front wheels.

if there are no visible leaks pull off your brake drums on the back you may have a bad wheel cylinder.if there good put the drums back on and then pump up the brakes really hard then look under your car to see if there is any sign of leakage.also look at the back side of your master cylinder to see if the fluid is running down the brake booster.

If you still have a solid pedal, you probably have just worn the pads to the point that the fluid is being more displaced.

Simply look for wet areas around lines and behind all the wheels.
