This is my first time being pregnant, at first I ate everything, now that I'm 8 weeks I find it difficult to eat. I'm hungry but when I go to eat, I can only have about 3 bites and then either I'm disgusted with the food, or I just can't eat it anymore. Is this normal or has anyone experienced this during pregnancy?

This is normal. Try sticking with a bland diet if your nauseous, such as saltines with peanut butter, rice, etc. If it's just that you can make yourself eat anymore than a few bites, then make sure you are making good nutricious choices when you do eat, and eat a few bites often. Hopefully this feeling will pass shortly!

Yes it;s normal. For me this only lasted for about 3 or 4 weeks and then I was back to normal appetite. I also had nausea and sometimes vomiting as well as the "turned off by food thing".

This happens probably because our bodied get pumped with 60 times the amount of hormones we normally have. These bodily chemicals probably make the stomach think it's being poisoned, which would explain the nausea and not wanting to eat. You eventually get used to the hormone levels, and in most cases gain appetite again. This is my theory anyway since no doctor or scientist knows why women get "morning sickness"

But I would say its the hormones and just eat small amounts and rest alot. Drink milk or other fluids if that doesnt upset you. I went through this with both pregnancies at the same stage you are at. Rest and eat, you will do fine

I'm 10weeks pregnant and it's my first also.
I know exactly what you're experiencing...i had a great few 1st weeks apart from being totally exhausted and as soon as i turned 8weeks my morning sickness and only being able to stomach certain foods kicked in!
I could only eat carbs, bread, dry crackers etc etc, but it gets better! I found the worst tummy cramps, i got because i was hungry, it's a vicious circle!
I was 9weeks on Christmas day and could eat a little more variety and now I'm 10weeks I'm almost back to normal and really craving fruit.
So hang in there, hopefully it won't last long

I was just like you, I was eating quite a bit in the early early weeks, I found out when i was about 3 weeks along...so 1 week gestational. I gained 5 lbs quickly, then all of a sudden I could barely eat what my fiance would cook us for dinner, and he is an awesome cook!

I am 14 weeks and 4 days along right now and I can pretty much eat only fruits veggies and grains no meat really...occasionally ice cream and chips. I have lost about 11 lbs to date and my doctor is not concerned. i am losing weight because I am eating better and thats what counts, the food thats going in.

Yes, it is completely normal.

When I first learned I was pregnant, I ate just fine (like a horse!)

When the 8-14 week time kicked in, I would literally have to sit back and think what I wanted. Foods I normally love (pasta) would nauseate me - sometimes I couldn't take 1 bite, sometimes I could take 3-4 bites.

Sometimes I would go through a grocery/restaurant list in my head to figure out what I was having for lunch that day...which ever food wasn't nauseating was it for that day (unfortunately, it was usually McDonalds...love their food, but it stays with me to this day).

I know exactly where you are coming from!!! At first i was eating us out of house and home and then at about 7 or 8 weeks i started getting the same way! I find that if something sounds repulsive when your THINKING about eating it dont even try it cause you will get sick!! I find and it seems from everyone else iv talked to that you will get full faster when your eating than before. Dont try to over eat when your full, stop. You will eat more often but only small amounts each time. Go in your kitchen (which is hopefully ot empty like mine is at the moment lol) and what ever looks good eat it even if it seems odd or gross, believe me you wot regret it. lol my husband thinks iv lost my mind because of the odd things that i eat, your preggers its normal, have fun with it, but still try to get in your fruits and things, i had to go as far as eating peanut butter on an orange, beat that lol :) GOOD LUCK

this is normal I'm going threw the same thing right now I'm also eight weeks preg. ill eat a few bites and get sick off of it and cant eat anymore but I'm starving, also when i would cook it i couldn't eat it.
the one thing that i found out that i can eat with out any trouble is oranges and fruit

i also can eat a grilled cheese and tomato soup with out any problems try it it might work

i also went to eating pretzels and unsalted peanuts threw out the day to keep something on my tummy.

just peanut butter sandwiches works also i don't use jelly because it tends to make me feel queasy

I think this is normal for some women. When I had my 3rd child I felt that way for the whole 9 mos. I lost weight but my baby was still healthy. Talk to your OB/Gyn. There is medication available to help fight off nausea. You can also try drinking Ensure. It has a lot of vitamins in it.
