When is an age gap too big in a potential or already going relationship?

How many years and why.

I'm 18. I'll be 19 in July.

I think it really matters on the people in the relationship but i think that people like Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones have too big an age difference but then again it seems like they have a pretty good relationship which is all that matters i suppose....

It depends on the age of the people involved. When you're in your teens, a gap of even a year or two can be dividing. In your twenties, about ten years gap can be too much. However, by your thirties, a gap between ages counts for less.

And I suppose age matters not if the couple are in love and are willing to work for their relationship.

There are just too many factors to consider such as maturity level, the ability to have/want children, general health and life expectancy, etc. It just depends. Don't let age get in the way of happiness. Oh, yeah....if you're a minor then thats a whole other situation.

But to be serious here as long as they are over te age limit the its ok.. I mean if your like 14 and he's 27 then its wrong. but if your 18 and hes 27 then if it's fine with the law it's fine with me.

it depends on how old you are and how old the other party is. i think 10 years is ok. just remember though men can sometimes be very intriguing being older. but someday when you get through looking up to them you might start looking sideways~

as long as you are both of legal age, there is no such thing as a standard number of years that is too great. it varries between people.
