If you gave your kids two middle names?

what was your reasoning it is a tradition in my family ?

I have 2 middle names. I am the only one out of 19 siblings (yes 19!!!!). I am going to give my kids 2 middle names to keep the tradition going.

My family does the whole two names thing too. I think the first middle name is a general name and the second denotes the baptismal name but is given at birth. My grandmother's side of the family is Swedish and I think it's really cool that in Swedish tradition, the names correspond to the father's first name. So if you dad is John you would be (first name, middle name) Johnsson, and the daughters and first name middle name Jonsdotter. I would guess that the two middle names came out of an era like that. What is your full name? My first and middle are Elisabeth Janine Guay. My daughter is Annica Ruth Angelica.

2 middle names is good, u can put in an extra favorite name of your's also. But in any case one only uses the last name or first mainly, and friends and all use short-forms. So one middle name itself is enough dont u think? and it will make the name shorter also, maybe the kid may not like too long a name later in life and may only, use first and last frequently and the middle one one's rarely?

My name is Susan Anne Castle

the reasoning for the middle name is they wanted somthing different but not wierd so they had a different spelling

If i was a boy i would be William Oliver Castle

after my grandfathers and that is the reasoning

but these are only one name

my parents originally thought about two middle names. if i was a boy the original was

James after my dad Oliver william after my grandfathers castle

and if i was a girl i was gonna be Susan Sallie mary castle because of my mom and grandmother.

Although I know of no one else in eitiher my mother or father's side of the family, my brother and I have two middle names. My dad has three. My mother wanted to give me each grandma's first name so my middle name is Ann-Marilin (like marilyn but spelled different). I hyphenate it so it would be on my driver's license. My brith certificate has two seperate names with no hyphen.

I dont know why we do it, just my dad has three middle names and I have a little girl and did not give her two middle names.

My daughter, Hailey has 2 middle names. They are Elizabeth Anne. Too be honest the reasoning behind it was because I wanted her middle name to be Elizabeth after my sister and my Hubby wanted it to be Anne which is the same middle name as his grandmother. When we just could not agree we figured that both sounded beautiful together and that is why she has 2 middle names.

I have two middle names! You should do it! I love telling people my full name. They always say something like, "You have TWO middle names!??"

My first and middle names are Emily Jena Danielle
And the weird thing is if I only had one of those my name would sound just not right.

My son is Jackson Ross Michael, Ross is his fathers middle name, Jackson is my uncles middle name, and Michael was my boyfriend in high school that drowned on our senior trip. I always wanted to name my son after my uncle and his father, then Michael was added in remembrance to someone very special to me. Passing around the middle names in my family is a tradition. I think it comes from the Irish side

--- i don't have kids yet, but if i did give them two middle names than each would have a heritage meaning behind it from both sides of the family and the first name would be a Hebrew name, because i know i'm bound to be with someone with a first name that is Hebrew just like me. ---

I dont have kids yet but wen i do im think about givin them 2 middle names... i have 4 sisters (( 1 passed in 2000)) so i want 2 include them all in it... They names are
