how come some emulator works and others dont. how can i check if it will work on my psp insted of tiring each one.

for an emulator to work it requires a decent amount of processing power. The homebrew community for the PSP is not nearly as "dedicated" as let's say the tried and true emulators developed by companies like Capcom for use with retro-compilations on the PSP. So as a result, the PSP has no problem emulating games from the Turbo-Grafx 16 and less due to their simpler architectures but for systems like the Genesis, SNES or even the Nintendo 64 the grounds are a lot shakier.

but do remember running ROMs on your PSP is illegal and unless your running homebrew apps designed for each of the respected consoles (which I doubt you are) you could get into legal trouble.
