so as not to shock the person...i guess....you don't want to freak them out when they are half a sleep.

lol..good question..um well maybe they just wanna start off whispering and then if it doesnt work...make their voices a little louder...i think its just so that the person who´s asleep doesnt wake up with a shock to a loud noise, you know?

I think it is because yelling is a little to harsh. My mom totally disagrees.

I whisper to not wake everyone up, but just one person...

so they wont startle the person and get punched in the face by someone who has had bad experiences in life or who was having a bad dream
