you can run XP on a Windows 98 SE Pc with the 98SE as the primary OS, but you cant run Win 98SE in XP with XP being the primary OS.

Not without repartitioning the drive (splitting it into two perceived drives). If you don't already have it partitioned (or a second actual drive), you will need to back everything up, reformat, partition and and re-install both OSes..

But, don't bother... Having both 98 and XP on the same system is pointless. Windows 98 is very buggy and inferior. If your computer can handle XP at all, you have no need for Windows 98. Do you think you need Windows 98 for a certain application? XP is supposed to be completely compatible. You can right-click on any program file, select 'Properties', under the 'Compatibility' tab you can set to run the program for Windows 98.

If you have 2 hard drives or 2 seperate partitions you can install the OS on the other hard drive/partition.Put in OS CD and pick the seperate partition/HDD for the one you want to install 98se on. After your done and reboot youll get a screen, asking you which OS you want to boot into. If your XP OS is using NTFS, you are not going to be able to see the other hard drive/partition for 98 and 98 isnt gonna be able to see XP's. You need to do a little research on this if you want to do it right. FAT32 is what your gonna need for XP and 98 for the 2 to read each other..

yes you can run 2 systems, but you will have to partition the hard drive and load 98 on one side and xp on the other. then when you boot you will have to choose which system to run.
