Get a keyboard, and play 1-3-5-8-5-3-1 (like: C E G C' E G) and move up one step at a time, over and over and over, singing along with it of course, you know like: la(c) la(e) la(g) la(c') la(e) la(g) la(c)

Record yourself and HONESTLY listen to it. You might be great, OR you might just suck? I don't know. I'm just letting you know / being honest. Like American Idol, there are people who THINK they're good, but they suck. Make sure you're not one of them.

How about post a recording of yourself singing, then ask people for their opinion of it. That will give a lot of bad comments, but it will also give good comments, which you can learn by.

I can play music, but my voice isn't good. I know that. I can SING notes and reproduce the accurate sounds, BUT it still doesn't sound good.

My point is, get opinions from people that aren't your friends or family, that will help. Also practice ALL THE TIME, with something like I mentioned. Record yourself. Plug a mic into your computer and use (start, all programs, accessories, entertainment, sound recorder) and record yourself. listen to it, play it for everybody, post it on the Internet.

Lily, if you have a decent voice you need to cultivate it like a beautiful flower. Protect it. Feed it. Remove the weeds. Learn how to make it blossom and grow strong.

Practice in the car and at home to songs you really like. Know the scale, your range, and limits. Possibly even try harmonizing to popular music and record yourself on a little hand held recorder.

Yes, there are bad voices that can't be fixed; but, most people have nice voices and no musical saavy. Just like anything worthwhile in life, you need to work at it and make adjustments.

Try a few simple songs first and work up to the tough ones. I like "Amazing Grace" because it is relatively simple but demands clarity, tone, and a sense of timing. Many of the Christmas songs are pretty easy too.

If you feel comfortable enough, test yourself with someone you trust and ask for their opinion. Don't let them be soft on you, but insist that they be specific about criticisms.

If you confront your insecurities and learn to sing in front of others, it may help you improve. One last thing. Your friends may say that you are lousy and they may say that you are good. If you are honest with yourself, you will know when you are good.

Best of luck to you!!

East - and then test yourself.

1. Practice in the privacy of your own home.
2. Practice singing in front of a mirror.

Now tape record your voice - and see if you like your singing voice. Then tape your speaking voice.

Then practice more, and see if you improved.

GOD bless.

practice with a lot of different types of music and try to imitate the notes...find some music that varies in notes so that u can cover a lot of them...
it also helps if u like the music because u'll get into it and find your voice

You need to do warm-ups every day...without fail, to strengthen your abilities.

You should get help from a vocal coach, too.

Well, I'd love to answer that and I have a bunch of tips. But I don't know what your specific problem is. What is it?
