Occasional single tiles have become damaged with holes appearing as bits are broken off. If left, will eventually destroy complete tile. Thought maybe some kind of clear fill which bonds and sets hard might do the trick. Any products available?

epoxy ... go to Kmart and they sell a 2 part mix in a double barrel syringe ... while the mix is still liquid you can ad a coloring powder from lows or home depot .... or even take some of the slate tile and pulverize it in to a powder and mix it into the epoxy to match the color ... or break off a piece of tile off from a not so noticeable place and set on top of epoxy while its still wet ... and you should be all set ... also to get a better bond ... make sure the area is clean and dry ...heat the area with a hair dryer till its hot ... pour epoxy in and it will fill every nook n cranny .... work fast cause epoxy will set up very fast in the hole when its heated ... but you ll need a bomb to get the epoxy out after its done curing...it WILL hold up in high traffic area....even better then mortar or concrete will

I'm a UK roofer. iv had this problem a few times and found that trying to replace the whole tile can sometimes make it worse and slate is expensive and usually replacing 1 tile results in having to replace more as they are fragile. ive found the best thing to use is clear silicone fish tank glue available at most good pet stores. its got a 10 year or more guarantee and is more than perfectly waterproof. use this you wont be disappointed. you can even use a spatula to spread it over the whole tile of its slightly brittle.
