My God, these answers are so bad that they ought to be illegal to post. Please don't listen to these people.

Anything the mother ingests can be passed to the baby. Pot is no exception.

However, there is little, if any evidence that a mother smoking pot has any serious harmful effects on the baby. As an example, research in Jamaica of mothers who smoked pot showed no significant differences between the babies of mothers who smoked pot versus those who didn't. What is most remarkable is that the average use in Jamaica has been estimated at more than 20 times the average use in the US.

As far as the baby dying -- oh my God, that is a stupid idea. The lethal dose of marijuana is so high that laboratory researchers are unable to find a dosage large enough that it will reliably kill a rat. In humans, the lethal dose has been estimated to be about one-third your body weight consumed in fifteen minutes. There has never been a recorded death due to overdose of marijuana in humans.

Smoking marijuana while breastfeeding should not be considered a good idea, but the chances that it will actually harm the baby are slim and none.

Think about it. There are tens of millions of people who have smoked marijuana for the last several decades -- including probably millions of pregnant women. There is no reported epidemic of problems with babies because of marijuana transmitted through breast milk.

You can find a ton of research on the health effects of marijuana at http://druglibrary.org/schaffer

The ingredients enter the blood stream of the person smoking it so naturally from there it is in the breast milk. Anything a woman puts in her body whether it be inhaled, eaten, or drank can and does effect a baby that is breast feeding. If she wants to smoke pot that bad tell her at least to quit breast feeding. Preferrably she'll care enough about her baby to quit smoking pot instead. Good luck.

Anything a mother does while breastfeeding can be transmitted to the child. It's best to be as healthy as possible while your child is still dependent on your body. Of course, I think it's best that you give up unhealthy habits like smoking marijuana by the time you become pregnant, because it will make you a better parent if you are not impairing your judgement.

Your obvious stupidity and trolling aside. No, in truth atheist moms might want to love their little ones extra then Christians. after all why will you want youngsters once you're in heaven? Is eternal bliss extra blissful in case you spend it with one or 2 extra human beings. yet even as atheist die the really component left to keep in thoughts them by is their little ones. those little ones are their legacy, their each little thing. the really evidence that a lot of them existed will be of their baby's minds and eyes and thoughts. obviously this suggests they are going to love and treasure their little ones extra good?

Yes. Everything you put in your body when your breast feeding goes to the baby. I don't know what the side effects would be, but I wouldn't want to knowingly expose my baby to anything that wasn't healthy/wholesome.
