Hi there.
I have lived in Cyprus and its a beautiful place all year. However, December, January and February are the coolest months of the year with the highest rainfall. It's by no means "Hot" but there will be some good warmer days where if you find a sheltered spot you can get some good colour. The later in February you go the warmer it will be, but it does get much cooler in the evening.
The daily temp will be around low to mid 60's in the daytime and low to mid 50's at night.

That said, the hotels are on winter rates and you can get some really good bargains- a lot of the hotels will also give you half board for the bed and breakfast price.
If it does rain, most of the bigger hotels have indoor heated swimming pools which is handy.

If you are serious about booking, the best place to go in winter is Paphos or Limassol as the resorts of Protaras and Ayia Napa are much much quieter and many of the hotels & apartments are closed- there are not many tourists around at all on that side of the island, but Paphos is fine as is Limassol.

Heres a link to a website which will give you the weather history
so you can check it out and see if it's what you're looking for.
I'd say though that if you're looking for hot weather with guaranteed sunshine, then look at maybe Dubai or Egypt- Sharm El Sheik for example is similarly priced to the Canaries in winter and the weather there is much warmer.

Good luck.

Its very nice during the day but cool in the evenings.

I went last January and came home with a tan.

My favourite months there are March - August
