A completely honest answer would prolly be reported. The easiest way to put it is that this state of things is based upon the idea that certain predominantly white countries brought ideas and innovations from their countries--sometimes when conquering.
Finally, perhaps we did start off not white, black or another colour, but sort of blandish, like our hairy ancestors.
My tuppence worth, no offense to anyone intended.

IMHO nobody doubts that all man are created equal.
White political and economical dominance is historically recent.
Industrial revolution started in Europe and spilled to certain countries first - no more reason then that. Europe's good start position derives from the fact that it was settled/populated by nations that participated in the Neolithic revolution ( keywords: agriculture, pottery... ). All nations that are rich today took part in the Neolithic Revolution; And most were early contacts of the countries that were industrially advancing between 1850 and about 1900.
The early industrialized countries had an advantage and accumulated great wealth. All have read about bad working conditions in industrializing Europe and America - the working classes did not get their fair share, some ppl say - this is one base of the big riches - the other possibly bigger is that medical condition grew better in the early industrialized countries early. Nations that lived and worked longer times accumulated more wealth than ones that had no medical facilities yet.
The leaders in these industrializing countries happened to have the same skin color as the rest of their nations - white for European pp & desendends & a brown color for ppl from Asia.
And this is the situation untill today.
BTW. White skin is a mutation that helps ppl living in northerly countries. It helps farming ppl who eat mostly serials against lack of vitamin D. That is all. Why should anyone with that skin think that he is better?

white man is not superior but sees advantages when natives of other countries are wrapped up in their feudal fights, tribal wars and constant in-fighting, and fail to notice what else is happening around themselves until it's too late. The red indians werent peaceful they were forever at war with each other until the white man came. Same with africa (and in some african countries are still at it). The aborigines didnt stand a chance because the first white settlers were mostly from the criminal element. Where the indigenous people are too busy with their own games a third nearly always benefits. It didnt have to be white, it could just as easily been another race.
I should add that that also applies to the scots. They were never in harmony with each other, they were forever bickering and fighting amonst themselves.
Clans, tribes, and other groups based on being 'apart' and/or not of the 'family' will always run the risk of being too disjointed to stand united until it's too late.

First off, how are you defining "white race"? For the sake of the argument, I'll assume you mean Europeans and those of European Ancestory.
The simple answer is that Europeans were the first to colonize other nations on a global scale. Someone previously mentioned ancient China as being a vast empire and it was. That of course was due to the fact that the Chinese had gunpowder based weapons. If you look at the history of European imperialism, you will see that they more often than not had greater weapons than their adversaries. The Native Americans, Africans, Aboriginal peoples of Australia, etc. all had primative technologies compared to the Europeans.
So the sense of dominance or superiority came from the fact that people from one nation could push around those of another. As the peoples of two nations began to integrate through colonization, slavery, trade, etc., those idealogies were upheld. Certainly European aristocrats who began colonies in places like Africa and America felt that they were superior to the native peoples because their society was more technologically advanced. That belief was passed down from generation to generation. You can see it not only in racism today, but also in the divide between first and third world countries. How many people of advanced nations think less of those in poorer countries?
Your question is interesting because we are actually seeing a big decline in the supremacy of predominately white nations. Countries like China, Japan, Korea, and Iran are becoming more influencial in the world theater. More and more of the world's economic power is shifting to Asia. Hopefully as the balance of power changes, we will be able to avoid the mistakes of the past. Hopefully we will one day all be members of an equal human race.

Well its all to do with technology obviously. White man europeans have invented and created some of the most audacious creations eg TV, the rocket, telephone etc etc etc. although these things have negative aspects to them eg. the nuclear weapon is just a crazy invention.
However I feel that blacks think they are superior as the have on average bigger willies. I don't think I am part of the superior race I think all races are amazing in their own ways. Whites idolised in hollywood films and broadcast around the world means that asians in developing countries will no doubt look at a white person with a certain fascination.

White European imperialism spread so far because their military and shipbuilding prowess allowed them to cover the globe in search of trade and in order to spread Christianity. Might and brutality allowed them to conquer, while imposed Christianity helped to make the native peoples cooperative. The Whites didn't see anything wrong with this, in fact, they thought they were doing what was right and did have the belief that they were naturally superior to other races.
However, the white race was never alone in this belief. Japan kept its doors shut to whites for centuries and believed the whites to be barbarians. The Chinese culture also reaches far back into antiquity, and had incredibly advanced technology compared to the early Europeans who came calling. Arab countries have their own perspective on history and have never considered whites to be their superior.
Modern times have given us a global trade, travel, and communication system that leaves no room for imperialism or for any sense of superiority of one race over the other. However, all races and countries worry about their own future in the big picture of things, including whites. Although white males still hold the majority of seats in American government, this is changing as women and non-whites are gaining support.
Change may seem slow for you, but there have been many changes since I was young. I have great hope that our modern civilization will learn to handle the problems that come with multiculturalism and multinationalism by embracing the common denominator of our one race: Human.

From the position of a white person i never feel that white people (or man) has the suprtiority over anyone. I think every race is equal and it is only through a few people with a bad attitude that the whole suprtiority thing is still around. People of all races have attitudes about other races and it is a shame that the few that do have problems make it hard for the rest of us. What is in someones skin colour, it only makes them visually different.

We got there first with the technology, and had the wisdom to take what we could when it was available. This I believe became available to us in particular, at that time because then we where honouring to God, and as a nation we put God first in politics's and government, as did many individual people in their every day lives, back in the day's of the British empire as it was. In other word's I believe it is God working among us.
Sorry if this offends any one. It's just an observation of the past. I'm not Superior and don't feel it either, that's not what gave us any superiority in the past. I believe it was the humility of our ancestor's.
Happy New Year.

Im from a white back ground, obviously making me white. My background is Greek.... ther are sertain things in my countries history wich make me proud like, Alaxander the Great... but not everyone aggres that Alaxander the Great was a conquerer, but a mass merderer!! ln 356-323 BC Alexander had coquerd the world and died in Babalon, were Iraq is today.... should l hate or blame the people of Iraq because for Alaxanders death, or the Sejuk Turks for the fall of Constantinople! you should ask yourself how much of history you are concerned with... and most importantly, why?

Personally I do not see skin color. I see people as people. ONE race. The Human Race. I do not find "white people" to be this way. It just so happens The English decided it would be cool to check out and see if the world really had an edge to it. They found *new* land and there you go. It all starts from there. Then you have the French and the Spanish. Then they take over my ancestors land (Native Americans) and after about 200 years you have this "great" nation known as The United States of America.
I'm not so sure about anything at all really. I don't even know if this answers the question. It is interesting though. I must say. And I do not find this to be racist. I find it to be a fair question.
Peace.
